Our Goal

Make financial literacy accessible and freedom attainable.

Our Story

It all started in the Lower Dining Hall at Boston College in February of 2018

Laura Stehler ‘20 inexplicably followed her desire to change the world, rather than her desire to be rich, which left her with a decade of medical school bills to look forward to. Being the entrepreneurial student she is, Laura confronted this bleak future and asked herself,

What can I do to be financially stable?
— Laura Stehler '20

The answer? No idea.

I, Rohan, have benefited from an abundance of financial education as a Finance concentration, ranging from basic finance all the way through investment banking and derivatives. In the spirit of Boston College’s Men and Women for Others, I felt compelled to help my dear friend Laura. So we grabbed dinner in the Lower Dining Hall on February 27, 2018, and chatted for four hours about the fascinating intricacies of the American financial system.

Fast forward a few months and Laura somehow returned, asking to learn more! Laura and I began to meet weekly, both to catch up on life and to help Laura take charge of her own financial life.

These meetings became the genesis of a simple idea. Social mobility and economic freedom are fueled by holistic financial literacy. Why not provide a comprehensive financial literacy library for those who need it, like Laura?

Thus, Ellipsis Finance was born.
